Hours of Work:  Tuesday – Wednesday 9.00am – 3.30pm, Friday 9:00 – 4:30pm, 19 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

Job/Personal Summary

Our warm and friendly school community is looking for an efficient and reliable new Administrative Assistant to join our school office team with excellent communication skills and an eye for detail. The successful candidate will:

  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interact with a wide range of pupils, parents and visitors to the school, both in person and on the telephone
  • Be able to use their own initiative as well as prioritise to ensure that deadlines are met
  • Be child-centred and able to deal sensitively with any first aid needs (training provided)
  • Be confidential and professional at all times
  • Be efficient, well-organised, flexible and able to work calmly under pressure
  • Have good ICT skills and be proficient in the use of MS Office packages
  • Be able to work closely and effectively within a team and build up good relationships with staff and governors
  • Preferably have experience of school office systems such as SIMs, Tucasi and Parentmail, although this is not essential as training will be given

Duties will include:

  • Communication, including general correspondence and newsletters
  • Being the ‘face of Twyford St Mary’s’ providing a friendly reception for all visitors and members of our school community
  • Ensuring the safeguarding of our pupils through checking attendance and visitors to the school
  • Answering general enquiries on the phone and in person
  • Providing welfare support to the children including administering First Aid and notifying parents when children are ill
  • General administrative duties as directed by the Senior Administration Officer and Headteacher
